Locker Room Renovations
Thanks to a generous donation from the Champlin Foundation, our locker rooms will undergo a facelift starting on Monday, January 12th. This is a long overdue project and we look forward to the new showers, flooring, fixtures and paint in both locker rooms as well as a new locker / changing area in the men's locker room. During the 6 week or so projected construction period, we will work to minimize the unavoidable inconveniences to our members, especially pool users, however, we do ask for your patience and a bit of tolerance - it will be worth it in the long run.
The Vincent Brown Rec Center, owned and operated by the city of Providence, has graciously offered to allow our members to utilize their locker rooms during the construction period.
Below you will find links to YMCA pools available to you if you choose to visit them during this time. If you would like to receive an email from us updating you on our progress and time lines for when the remodeled locker rooms will reopen, let Barbara Vincent know.
Here's what to expect:
Pool Users:
You will have to walk through the lobby and down the stairs to the Rec Center's Locker Rooms.
Please bring a bathrobe, flip flops and locks for your lockers as well as soap, towel and all other essentials.
For your comfort and safety, we will provide carpeting from the pool to the rec center's locker rooms.
Handicap Access:
The family locker rooms will be available for anyone unable to navigate the stairs to the gym locker rooms. As there are limited individual locker rooms in this area, please be prepared for a longer wait until one comes available.
Other YMCA Pools:
You will be welcome at YMCA pools across the state. Just click on the link of the Y you would like to visit for thier pool schedule.
